New Center?

I have the rm 7600 speaker system but think I can do better than the 4600 center that it comes with.
Any suggestions on a 6 ohm or higher front center so I could then place the 4600 center in the rear for a 6.1 configuration. It doesnt have to be a POLK but I know that I should stick to same brand.
The current rm 4600 center has a 1 inch tweet and 2 -51/4 woofers.

I believe the system you have is a setup of RT25i, CS245i speakers on crack! lol! As in I mean, they are twice the price for the same exact speaker. Anways, the only thing you could buy by Polk that would make any difference would by the CSi40. When doing that, it may over power your other speakers, but if your looking for any better center. Your looking for the wrong place for recomendations, seems to be Polk all da way! lol!
Go to CC, get your demo on. The CSi40 is the best dang center I have heard for the bottum dollar, very nice sounding piece of equipment. The CS245i (CSi30), to me sounds very humdrum, not very musical, but a good HT speaker.
How loud do you listen to music/movies? How big is your room? Do you feel your center channel lacks? If so - What do you feel it lacks in? Do the mains drown it out? Does it not have enough bass?
What are you running that setup with? (receiver)
How many bones are you willing to drop?
If you are not overly satisfied with the current center, I would highly recomend the CSi40 or CS400i.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I would also suggest the CSi40, but it will most certainly overpower the rest of the system if driven at high volumes. In that case the CSi30 may slide into that job a little easier, and its still a nice center.
The CSi30 has the same basic driver setup as your current but a larger cabinet and a different tweeter. That is just the two basic notes, but it will sound alot better in the midrange and bass than your current 7600 satellite. The tweeter difference will be negligible, your center will sound louder anyhow.
The 7600 is a neat little system, but the satellites are just too small to kncok your socks off. You did get the daddy of them all, and that certainly makes a difference, that sub is nice.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Oh ya, Vr3 mentioned the older series center channels, they would probably be the BEST choice if you can find one.
CS245i = CSi30
CS400i = CSi40
The tweeters match your current, so their would be no timbre problems, just a volume difference.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Vr3 mentioned something something about the Rm7600 speaker system being an exact version of the rt25i and cs245i for the center. Is this correct?
From what I read on the Polk site on this system they made some improvements in the tweeter and so forth. Anybody know if Vr is right or wrong? Did he maybe mean its "almost "an exact version? -
"almost" the same...hence the on crack part

Get a CSi40. I had the same system and always felt the center was lacking on the low end. The CSi40 solves that problem.
