HDMI issue

I have my ps3 hooked up via HDMI to the TV. Sometimes the screen will just black out, then sometimes it comes back other times I have to go fiddle around with the cable but it's always in and nice and tight. Is this a handshake issue? Then other times there are no issues we can use the ps3 for a long time and nothing.

    Yes usually that is a handshake issue. You basically have to go through the process of elimination:

    1) try another cable
    2) try another TV
    3) if possible, try another PS3
    4) update the firmware on the PS3
    5) update the firmware on your tv, if possible

    I had this issue with my PS3 for a while, turned out it was a crappy HDMI cable - I replaced it with a spare and the problems went away. Oddly enough the crap HDMI cable works on another tv with no issues...
