Monitor 10A usually has a Peerless tweeter. I can't tell from the pictures whether the dark tweeter is a Peerless. Monitor 10B has a SL-1000 (bright brushed steel face like the left speaker) or SL-2000 tweeter. So if these Monitors are truly 10As then the SL-1000 is probably the wrong replacement. It will take more investigation to sort this out. I paid $75 for a nice pair of Monitor 10As with Peerless tweeters, so $130 for a mismatched set is too much.

well I actually think they are 10b, at least looking at the drivers and cabinets. they have the beveled faces and they do not have the masonite rings around the drivers. My best guess is the SL1000 is actually the 'replacement' tweeter. It is hard to tell if the black tweeter is.
that being said, price is a bit high, given you will have to replace the tweeter (whichever is the right one) I would probably offer around $75.
    good luck

Are you sure they are beveled?? I thought when they did that they went to full length grills. Those are either late 1983 10As or early 1984 10Bs polk switched cabinets in 1983 to the short grill. if you knew aserial number it may help

10As 6500s with us made Peerless marked 5514____
    Early 10Bs 6600X or 6501s with SL 1000s
    Crossovers are the same.

Your probally right Keith...alittle hard to tell on those tiny pics, but once I blew one up they are square cabinets...still would need to replace one of the tweeters.

Some later 10A's had sl1000's instead of peerless. These are mismatched and I wouldn't give him more than $75 for the pair.

Good job Brock, you can count and know your alphabet :)

As stated, you can find a pair of 10A with Peerless or SL1000.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I've sold off all of my older 10B's, but I did not know that A's put the polk logo below the grill...though I did see a reference the other day to a short grill 10A. Also my older 10B's had a cutout area between the mids....
