Is audioquest misleading and scientificly false?

I have read a lot of peoples post about audioquest that say in the past and now currently audioquest misleads and factually misrepresents what their wires/cables can do? These are elec eng's whp are writing these things too, any one agree or disagree? what are your thoughts? I actually have their HDMI cables from forrest and they seem fine, probably better than my AR's acutually.

*sarcasm on* I actually think all cables sound the same, so it doesn't matter how much you spend or what cables you buy. Audioquest lies all the time about their cables. I have actually never heard their cables at all, but that is still my opinion on the subject. *Sarcasm off*:biggrin:

You can always answer your own question and try some of their cables yourself.

It's not like they claim their cables can raise an XWing out of a swamp or tow a semi truck.

Best advice, give them and try and hear for yourself. I personally found AQ's use of solid conductors (rather than multi-strand) tends to accentuate treble--so if you're wanting a little more sparkle in your highs--or have overly "dark" sounding equipment--they can be a good choice. I have personally used Type 4, Granite, Sidewinder, Copperhead, and Diamondback. I was never "disappointed" but thought that the cheaper Copperhead outperformed the more expensive Diamondback, at least in my system. The DB had a very dry, 2-dimensional tonal character that I did NOT like. I could hear no difference between sidewinder and copperhead.

The Upside is that Slate (spkr cable) and Sidewinder (IC) are relatively cheap, and will display to you 85% of the Audioquest "house sound." I think AQ is one of the best value's out there for someone wanting to experiment, without breaking the bank.

    Also,
There's no doubt a healthy dose of hype goes into any marketing info--it doesn't necessarily mean the product does nothing, just don't expect miracles. There's no replacement for good core COMPONENTS first.

    oh....my.....god.

some people think cables make a difference
    some don't

some in both camps will actually try either way and base there opinion on there experience.

    Some don't

try diffrerent cables....like what you hear? great. don't hear a difference? even better, you just saved money. god bless.

figure it out for yourself, and more importantly, care not wether people disagree with you on the subject
