Ok, WOW. Great find man, what an interesting story! And if I were the photographer I'd probably need a clean pair of drawers after that experience...

If I see those 2 beasts running down the road towards me, I'd be hiding inside the car.

Maybe the Bison and Bear were friends.

    Bison - "Tag....you're it"
    Bear - "I'll kill you!"

Still a cool story. Too bad it wasn't video so you could get a real grasp of how fast this encounter actually was.

I'll bet he could smell both those things as they passed him.

If it was bunch of bison it would've been a Close Encounter of the Herd Kind.

Amazing how strong the instinct to survive is in the animal kingdom. Even in his terrible state the Bison survived the chase by the bear...only to be put down.

Great photos! I'm not sure why they put down the bison and didn't just let the great circle of life carry itself out?

Great story and pictures but I was thinking the same, a video with audio would have been great... better than some movies

I think thats what the bear was thinking the poor buffalo was allready half cooked.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
