connecting subwoofer & speakers

I have a set of Polk audio speakers that i got with my HP computer back in 1998 and can't quite remember how to set them up again.
I've managed to plug them into another, newer PC but they're not as loud as i remembered them being.
I have the powered Sub woofer and the 2 speakers...but the only written info is underneath the speakers......it says..
000MA3A5-0

They were originally connected to the side of the HP monitor that they came with, but i took them off and had them on my desk further apart.
I would ideally like some kind of set-up diagram if possible.
