We just asked Kazunori Yamauchi, the father of Gran Turismo, in an interview here at SEMA, the question on everyone's minds — when will GT5 finally be released? His response: "The discs are being stamped as we speak."

The picture above is Kazunori making a disc-stamping motion with his hands as he answered our query on the ever-shifting release date. We did talk about a number of different topics other than the release — and we'll have more coming shortly — but for the moment, we thought we'd at least bring you that response.

Amazon has the release date set at December 31st for shipment to pre-order customers.

All I gotta say is...pictures or it didn't happen.

I'd be interested in hearing about any racing wheels that work well with GT5, from anyone who gets their hands on this.

I sometime long for mini steering wheels like they had in PSX days, for quickie races.

All of the Logitech wheels should work. I have the original Driving Force wheel that came out with GT3, it works with GT5P. The game makers have been pretty good about compatibility with the Logitech wheels.

Short of a racer seat rig, what do you put the wheel on/sit on?

Best non-fanboi/non-hater review of the game I've seen yet. Reasonable and critical without being petty and obnoxious.
