Keep Power to Speakers On?

I have two RTi100 tower speakers and a DSW Pro 500 subwoofer. All are powered. Would I be doing better to plug them into a power strip and turn them on only when I am using them? I doubt that the cost of the electricity is a factor. I'm more concerned with the life of the amplifiers.

My gears are all connected either to surge protectors or power conditioners, and it's my habit to turn them off when not in use. Even if the electrical saving is minimal (you could use a Kill A watt or Killerwatt device to find out), with the number of components I have, I still think in the long run it's a good idea. Even on standby mode, most amps would be generating a little heat (prob not to the touch) and everything electronic has a finite lifespan. Now if that's a tube amp, I would definitely turn off the device. Just my 2 cents.
