So I was playing some vinyl last night and was wondering where you guys buy your vinyl?

Everything I have purchased recently is used but wanted to know if you guys buy new and where?

I use a Music Hall MMF 5.1 for listening and have another table (ION) from a friend that I use for transferring Vinyl to MP3.

Goodwill can be a great source. There is also a shop here in town that is getting out of the vinyl business, but most of their inventory is crap. I did score a couple Beatles lps there yesterday however....

I've seen brand new LPs at Half price books as well, and of course they have plenty of used ones.

And the prices are good.... AND it all benefits charity. Rather than hitting Goodwill every day to see if they have anything new, I prefer to sit my lazy duff in my computer chair and browse his ever-changing selection.

I would too, but for some reason I am on his naughty list.

I always start with Geroge first!! His "pristine" rating is excellent, and the proceeds go to a good cause.

Garage sales are ok but can be hit or miss.

Thanks, I was kinda talking about new stuff.

I asked cause my Google search turned up some stuff that seemed shady. I figured you guys would know a few good joints.

I will be checking out all of your suggestions.

    Thanks fellas,

I buy a few things new or at 1/2 price, but mostly when I want new vinyl I put up ads on craigslist stating that I'm buying record collections, then wait for the emails to roll in. Even after sorting through what I consider to be junk, I usually pay around a buck or so per album. And it's a great way to run across things I'd either forgotten about, or never heard of, or whatever.
    Turntable: Empire 208
    Arm: Rega 300
    Cart: Shelter 501 III

    Amp: Conrad Johnson Evolution 2000

Its so cool when you find some old obscure thing that really floats your boat. At $1 per LP I've bought tons of completely unknown music. I usually hit on a couple really good ones for every 25 I buy.

George is the man for any Club Polk vinyl fan.

Joe you should know that every dime goes to a wondeful place called the Githens Center for children. You get great vinyl and get to do something for them, best win/win I ever had.

Since I'm just sticking my toes back into the vinyl pool it's garage sales and flea markets.
