Plasma TV or lack of them...

Why only a few manufactures making a Plasma TV over anything else? When I was at a store seeing what's available I seen many LCD, and LED set's but only Panasonic making a Plasma set. I was in Cosco so their selection maybe limited some, but seen the same more or less in Walmart. I find Plasma killer in picture in it's speed, so I find others a bit bitsy in the picture while moving quickly.

Carver Amazing Fronts

Sony CX400 CD changer
Panasonic 42-PX60U Plasma
WMC Win7 32bit HD DVR

I saw some LG sets that looked pretty nice.

The thing that's holding me back from buying a plasma up to this point has been size. I've seen a few 60", but I want to go 65-70 which I think will happen in the next few years.

Pretty much, you may have to go to other local A/V stores to buy them. I won't buy anything at Best Buy anymore due to their pain in the arse return policy. If your going to do plasma, hit the higher end sets, the cheap vizeo plasma's are just that. Motion blurr is still an issue with lcd which is why I went plasma also. Some have done better than others with reducing the motion blurr, but make everything look like a soap opera in the process.

It just seems to me as if Plasma should rule this market, and not be the under dog in sales.

LCDs are brighter and can work in situations where you have a bright room. I think plasmas have a superior picture, but people either have rooms where they need an LCD, or they're just attracted to the overall brighter picture.

Went to the store last night thinking the 1800 was a great deal just to find them marked down to 1499 with free delivery.

^ Like I said, 1499 is in the store. The ones here in the denver area claimed to have 11 in their warehouse so there shouldn't be much of a shortage.
