I have tried everything on google...
We are trying to link Windows 7 Home to Windows XP Pro
We are just trying to access files from one to the other, nothing advanced.
Please any ideas let me know asap!

You will need to set up a Homegroup in Win 7 and then allow the Win XP machine accesss. Go to the Control Panel then select Home Group then run the set-up wizard.

For future reference you can now share Folders/Documents on Windows 7 to XP without putting it in the public folder.
