Fired up my "new" (to me) amp last night

I gave the Pioneer A-717 integrated I recently acquired a bit of a cleaning from the inside out last night. I went over pretty much everything I could reach with a Q-tip and then some compressed air. I was initially going to test it with some old Sansui speakers I have, but then decided to pull the Haydn Grands from their carton and give 'em a go. I was a bit nervous at first as there was some scratchiness in one channel, but a few back and forth turns of each knob seemed to eliminate that - probably some corrosion from 6 years of non-use.
Then I started to give it a little volume... Oh, my! I wasn't expecting this. I didn't get the volume past 11:00, but the sound was so strong, yet clear. My source was Pandora via Squeezebox - yes, I know, not the highest resolution - but, wow! Ok, here's where it gets a little embarrassing ... the first song to play was a-ha's Hunting High and Low. I always thought this song was ok, but I had never heard it like this before! I'm just going to let this thing play most of the weekend to begin the break-in of the Haydns.
Master plan is to pair the Haydns with my Cambridge Audio Azur 640A v2 integrated, and to use this Pioneer with my Monitor 11s - since they are both from approximately the same vintage.

Here's some of the amp before cleaning it up. I'm embarrassed to show pictures of the speaker arrangement at the moment, 'cause my RTi10s are serving as stands for the Haydns. I'm just doing a little break-in now with A Perfect Circle's Mer de Noms as I get some work done around the house.
(It's kind of like a Duracell, but a copper-bottom...) -

That looks alot like the Sansui 719 I just sold.
Twin mono design.
Very powerful indeed. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
