I saw an ad on craigslist...no photo. All it says is "Large SVS unpowered cylinder sub. Works great. Will throw in an old receiver for free if you need an amp for it."

$80.00

Is it worth a look?

Yes, absolutely. But "an old receiver" isn't adequate power for any cylinder sub SVS ever made. $80 for the sub itself sounds like a great deal if it's not trashed, and you can look at picking up a pro amplifier to power it the way it should be powered. Get the model number, call SVS, and ask them what kind of juice it calls for.
"I did not slap you. I high-fived your face."

Absolutely. Just drop the receiver off at Goodwill on the way home.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
