Here's your chance to trash the best team in the NBA before the season gets started.

I'm hoping they'll set a new record for wins in one season. No matter what, it should be a great ride this year.

I'm betting Boston will beat Miami tomorrow. :D

Go Lakers!

Kobe Bryant Just Not Into It This Year

    October 23, 2010 | ISSUE 46•42

LOS ANGELES—Two-time NBA Finals MVP Kobe Bryant, who claims he typically looks forward to the 82-game professional basketball season, told reporters Friday that he's "just not feeling it" this year. "Yeah, I don't know," Bryant said after a practice at which he arrived, took three lackadaisical jump shots, and left without removing his jacket. "The whole basketball deal isn't really my thing right now. I don't really want to get into it." When asked if he cared whether he won another NBA title, thereby tying the number of championships won by Michael Jordan, Bryant responded, "Nah."

I will cheer on any team that is playing the Lakers. They make me want to puke even more than the Yankees. I dislike Kobe so much that if I heard he had a career ending injury, I would giggle, and I don't even like basketball!

:D You're either a Yankee fan, or you hate them. Same applies to the Lakers too I think.

Gotta say though, when I was a kid I loved watching them fight it out with the Celtics and the 76ers. Kareem and his "sky hook" and Magic stole the show more times than not.

Boston wins (I hate Boston more than the Yankees), but the Heat did pretty good for their first outing against a great team. This is going to be an interesting season.

Just buttered the popcorn for the Lakers opener!

    Go Lakers!

Kobe is overrated. He makes bad decisions with the ball and has done it his whole career. He rode Shaq's coat tails thru the first 3 titles. they could have won a 4th the year Malone and Payton were on the team, but Kobe shot them OUT of the finals chasing the championship MVP. He was jealous of Shaq winning those MVP's, and dysfunctional mental case that he is, would rather NOT win a title then then have to endure another year playing Robin to shaq's Batman. Kobe could have ensured more titles for L.A. if he had told the owner that he wanted Shaq on the team. He didn't. He thought Shaq was holding back his potential.
So Shaq is shipped off. Kobe gets Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, Caron Butler, Chris Mims. Now Kobe is excited. Even goes to the news conference when these players are signed, declaring, "My Guys!". He thinks now HE is the leader and he has visions of finally being able to show he is the best player ever to play the game. What happens? NADA!. SQUAT! ZILCH!. He leads them into the playoffs and...oh wait a minute...they don't even MAKE THE PLAYOFFS...my bad...So much for being a leader. Kobe never was one.
That's when he goes into his infamous meltdown wanting to get traded to Pluto or wherever. Biggest crybaby in NBA history. D-Wade has played on some horrible teams. Ever him him complain? No.
Kob e doesn't manage to start winning until the Lakers start putting All-Star talent around him like Pau Gasol and Ron Artest. Michael Jordan, LeBron, Wade...none of them ever played with team mates the caliber of what Kobe has had when he won titles.

....How'd I do? Is that enough trash?

I hate the Minneapolis Lakers. When they left Minnesota, they should have changed their name as well because everyone knows there are no lakes in Los Angeles!

    Kobe is overrated.

The MVP voters would disagree with this statement.

He makes bad decisions with the ball and has done it his whole career.

So did Magic and Michael and John Stockton had 43 games in which he had more turnovers than assists. Most turnovers happen when you are trying to pass the ball and make something happen.

He rode Shaq's coat tails thru the first 3 titles.

So Kobe just watched while Shaq did all the work, just like Wade did in Miami.

they could have won a 4th the year Malone and Payton were on the team, but Kobe shot them OUT of the finals chasing the championship MVP.

I remember Karl being hurt and Payton playing like crap and was a defensive liability. Not to mention Detroit was just a better TEAM.

He was jealous of Shaq winning those MVP's, and dysfunctional mental case that he is, would rather NOT win a title then then have to endure another year playing Robin to shaq's Batman.

When it came time to decide who the Laker organization was betting their future on, they bet on Kobe. Shaq and Kobe shared the jealousy and game playing equally at that point.

Kobe could have ensured more titles for L.A. if he had told the owner that he wanted Shaq on the team. He didn't. He thought Shaq was holding back his potential.

The Lakers traded Shaq, not Kobe, they obviously thought Shaq was holding the team back.

That team actually overachieved according to many.

That's when he goes into his infamous meltdown wanting to get traded to Pluto or wherever. Biggest crybaby in NBA history. D-Wade has played on some horrible teams. Ever him him complain? No.

D Wade was whining all last year and threatened to leave via free agency if the Heat did not do something to improve. I guess you missed that since your focus is all about Kobe.

Kob e doesn't manage to start winning until the Lakers start putting All-Star talent around him like Pau Gasol and Ron Artest. Michael Jordan, LeBron, Wade...none of them ever played with team mates the caliber of what Kobe has had when he won titles.

Ron Artest made the All-Star team only once, in 2004 as a reserve. Michael Jordan had Scotty Pippin (All-Star and HALL OF FAMER), and Dennis Rodman (another All-star), but you probably didn't catch that because you were focused on Kobe's High School career. D Wade had your boy Shaq. Le Bron had your boy Shaq (but still hasn't won a ring), and, I dare say, dissed the City of Cleveland because they wouldn't buy him some real talent. He didn't whine, he just bolted, and the team was broke after writing him those heavy checks.

....How'd I do? Is that enough trash?

A valiant effort, but a little too emotional and horribly uninformed. Also, it was sort of a thread jack in that the topic was the Lakers, not just Kobe. According you your analysis, the Lakers as a TEAM were great (look at their record) and would have been even better off without Kobe. But, since Kobe is the best Laker in franchise history, we'll accept this entry as a Laker-Hater entry with an asterisk (infatuation with Kobe understood and excused).

As far as other opinions go, i don't watch anywhere near enough basketball to care....:D:D Only if the celts make the playoffs, then we'll get more into it, as for regular season, that impedes on my Mythbusters re-runs. :p

Ok. It was fun reading this thread again and I thought I'd give all of the MANY Laker-haters a chance to update us about how much the Lakers suck and who is going to beat them. The Miami/Celtics series is off to a great start, Oklahoma scares the crap out of me (even though they lost to lowly Memphis), not to mention Atlanta, or Chicago.....

    Enjoy!

    Oh yeah......Go Lakers!
