Any suggestions on some good listening for these formats?

I like Jazz, Rock, Classic-Rock - really anything but RAP.

    Without a doubt, my top suggestions for DVD-A would be the following:

    Beck-Sea Change
    Steely Dan- Gaucho
    Metallica- Metallica (Black Album)

    For SACD, the following:

    Steely Dan - Aja (the new SHM-SACD from Japan..hurry up, there limited edition and going quick!)

    Peter Gabriel- So
    Sam Cooke- Portrait of a Legend 1951-1964
    Elton John- Madman Across the Water
    Stevie Ray Vaughan- Texas Flood...though you might want to wait and get the MFSL SACD of this which is coming out soon. Everything MFSL puts out is amazing and their SACD might be better than the one I own from Epic records that came out in 1999.

    Anyway, this should get you started....enjoy and let me know what you think if you buy any of these titles!

    I also second danz choice of Kind of Blue on SACD. Does anyone know if **** Brew or In a Silent Way are out on SACD??

    +1 on Metallica, as I have it. Also picked up Believe by Disturbed and Corrosion of Conformity's Volume Dealer all on DVD-Audio.

    I'll try Miles Davis on SACD and maybe Pink Floyd as well. Also thinking about Four Play on DVD-Audio.

    I almost forgot,, but another one to get without fail is Porcupine Tree's "Deadwing" on DVD-A. Absolutely mindblowing. Actually, I'd get any DVD-A from this band. They are something to behold!

    Great and useful links there!

    The Yourmusic.com subscription sounds like a good way to build up an SACD collection. Are the prices on SACD always $6.99 or are those just teaser prices? I just started my SACD/HDCD collection and that is an attractive option.

    Just came back from Amazon, listened to a sampler of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue - love it but saw the prices, which is kinda out of my budget. Bummer. I guess this will be on my Christmas wishlist.

    They used to be $5.99 :mad:
