Can this two type of speakers blend?
Hi:
I'm new in the Polk world. Recently I purchased a pair of RTi 10 Floorstanding speakers. I'm searching now for a modest Home Theater Speakers system to use it as a 7.1 system. I know that if I buy the rest of the RTi series, it will blend perfectly. But I don't have the budget to do that right now. I'm looking to buy the RM87 HT system and the PSW111 subwoofer. My question is, this two different technologies will work together well or I will notice a difference when using it in the 7.1 system.
Thanks,
Feferefe

Welcome to club Polk. With HT the most important speaker components to match are the Center Channel and the LF andf LR.

What's the price on the HT system plus the sub? There are some really good deals to be had on RTi series speakers depending on your budget.
A brand new CSi3 from Amazon will run $120 and a CSi5 is can be snagged for under $200 off EBay, or even on this forum.
You can get a PSW 505 powered sub from Newegg for $230 shipped, which is a great price and a very respectable sub for performance vs price.
I picked up some RTi6s for rears for $180 from a member here, and they were New-Old-Stock. When I received them they looked MINT and sound just as good.
If you are patient and keep your eyes peeled, as I said, there are real bargains available - good luck! -
WOW!! Thanks guys for you quick response!! Yes, I'll be patience and try to get at least a CSi4 and a pair of RTi A1. For the subwoofer, I will see the one suggested.
I take this opportunity to ask about Bi-amplify the RTi 10. Let me know if I need to open another thread.
Thanks! I'm glad that I found you guys!! -
IMHO, the bi-amp/bi-wire option should be ignored, especially if you're new to this. You said you wanted modest. Just run one wire to each speaker. Start simple and read up on your options. I was at first interested in this "because it was there." After reading more about it, I'm perfectly happy not pursuing it.
