I suppose you mean music that you paid to download through itunes? they should all be MP3's and probably stored in My Music/itunes on a PC. In any event, the answer should be yes. If they are in apple lossless format, they might have to be converted.

All depends on the format. Bought music I believe is still encoded unless you buy the "plus" music you rip from a cd again depends on the format. I know my format apple lossless which is uncompressed would probably not be readable to a zune or other mp3 device. I know my droid has a app that allows me to use apple lossless music on it.HT setup

Wouldn't the device need specific apple software to sync properly with iTunes?

Only ipods can sync with itunes from what I know.HT setup

That would be my guess as only iPods have the onboad Apple software .
