RT12's for $300?

Was at the local pawn today and noticed a pair of absolute pristine condition Rt12's. They came from the shop owner's home.
They have the jumpers still attached.

Looked them up and found that this price is about half of what they originally sold for new. I havent bought speakers for almost 20 years.
1)are these worth that?
2)will they match cs350ls center (timbre)?
Perhaps I should build seperates 1 - 2ch and Ht?

Im not sure if I have the spare room left in my house unless I do some rearranging.
3)what is the absolute shortest listener distance from my 3.1's? I know I could meet the side to side specifications and the distance across one another. But not sure the room would be large enough with all the raw power I own in biamp phase. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt :D

They would sound fine with the center you mentioned. I think the price is high, but that's just me. Some would say different. I grabbed a pair of the RT-16's for 150. I guess it depends on how bad you want them.

Oh I read RTi12... totally different beast. RTi12s for 350 would be a great deal. RT12s for 350 is pretty high... You can find RT20's for that price....and those are beasts.

I recently sold mine for about that price. The RT's aren't going to be as sonically sounding as the SDA or RTA. Not a bad surround setup though.

I used the CS 350 with mine . Worked well together.

Were those the speakers you had on your first floor by the TV? If so, I remember they sounded pretty nice!

Price is high. I don't prefer the tweeter in those (the tri-lams are much more detailed and airy) and you can get the smaller rt7s bookies with the tri-lams for about 150 shipped on ebay if you're patient, and they have great bass for bookshelfs.. You can also get the newer (also with tri-lam tweets) rt55 or rt55i on ebay for under 200 shipped. Plenty of slam, nice detailed high-end, and look really cool on stands.
