Actually, if you are smart about it, you can get free samples from TI (owns Burr Brown now), Analog Devices and National Semiconductor. They don't offer ther real premium ones for free, but they do offer many of the more common ones.
Just go to the actual manufacturers website (AD, TI, or National), find the opamp you desire, and see if they have a 'get samples' link. I've been doing this for a couple years and have yet to buy an opamp.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
