I have a pair of Monitor 70s (original series) with a PSW505 Sub.
I'm looking at either a CS2 Series II or a CS20 for a center.
Any suggestions which would be a better match? There's only a $20 difference in price at the moment.

i have a cs2 and it sounds damn good and i know its timbre matched to the 70's. i have never hear the cs20 though.

Either one would work very well. The CS20 is essentially the newer version of the CS2 and there are very few differences between the two.

Aesthetically anyway, the CS2 would probably be a better match.

My situation relates. I just ordered a set of M70's/M40's (all series II from NewEgg) but accidentally ordered the TSi line's CS20 center rather than the CS2. I know there's going to be shipping and restocking fees if I exchange it, so besides the aesthetic difference I'm wondering if its still going to be timbre matched. I dont want it to sound weird when transitioning from the center to the fronts.

The Monitor CS2 crossover is 2.3K.
The TSi CS20 crossover is 2.5K.
The efficiency rating is 1db different, the freq response is 7Hz lower as well, but that probably doesn't affect the speaker matching between the two series, or does it?

I contacted customer service at Polk about this. They said no problem with timbre matching between my Monitor 70s and the CS20. Only difference is really in the appearance. I ordered the CS20 and it sounds great with the monitor 70s.

I had the CS20 in my setup paired with Monitor 70's and I had absolutely zero complaints. To be honest, that extra 7hz was a big plus for me, it added a nice warm full sound to male vocals. Not that the CS2 doesn't sound great, I just had to put my 2 cents in for the CS20.
