Wranglers are horrible riding tires, Eagles LS series is a very nice ride. Michelins I have on the 6 are dry cracking 1.5 years after buying the car.

after working in all the different tires plants the tires are all the same just a different tread pattern.

The worst tires I have owned on my SUV's were Dunlop Rovers and Goodyear Wranglers by far. The traction was terrible and wore quickly and unevenly. I currently use te BF Goodrich Long Trails and have good luck with them.

For my luxury cars I buy Bridgestone and Michelin. Smooth and quiet.

For my sports car I really like the BF Goodrich g-Force. (in the dry)

    DUNLOP SP SPORT SIGNATURE!
Ever since my wife and I got married and I am now in charge of maintaining her (our only) car (2005 Saturn Ion 3), I have been buying these tires. Great value and really good performance for 80 bucks a pop at tire rack. We ship them straight to the installer and they are done in under an hour. Great Experience here in the DC metro area.

Continental ContiproContacts came stock on my Audi, and I've been sticking with those ever since. I've not had any issues with them being excessively loud or wearing out quickly, and the car seems to handle well with them, so I'm pleased. That and they don't break the bank either.

I believe I had the same series and also liked them alot.

Did you say yours was an A4 Mark? Yea, I believe those Continentals were created specifically for German sport/luxury cars.

How would you compare the Dunlops you mentioned earlier to these?

Pondering trading mine in on a used S4 ina few months. If I do, I'll definitely want to improve the tires I'm buying as the S4 just deserves better :)

Yes, we have a 2008 A4 S-Line....unfortunately no S4 :D. It's our 3rd A4(4 Audi's in all with the 2008TT) and it's predominately my wife's car since I'm a redneck. Absolutely wonderful vehicle and I think our next move for her will be a Q5.

I've only had them for a couple hundred miles so I'm not sure it would be fair at this point. I bought the Continentals with high performance on my mind at that time but since we'll probably ditch this A4 before the warranty expires, it was moreso a very good all season that I was shopping for. Off the cuff I'd say the Conti was a much better tire overall from a performance standpoint....very nice when cornering, steering was definitly tighter than the Dunlop and they were excellent in hot weather. I would buy the Conti's again.

Well, instead of being raped for reverse mount install charges on my current aftermarket rims, of which the clear coat was already failing much to my dismay....found a pair of OEM Silverado SS 20" for the Warthog. They are a little different from the OEM Avalanche 20" in regards to the spokes and I thought that would be cool and unique. I snagged them for a song and picked up a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X from TR w/ a $40 rebate. It might not be much but I like getting a couple bucks back when I buy things.

I wanted to stay in something cooler, ala 24" but they're not too shabby and I never have to fear curbs, dead bodies or other road hazards anyways, so with new shoes it'll be squared away until trade-in. I haven't owned Yokohama's in years since some, summer only that I had installed on a couple earlier vehicles. I'm excited and I get to save on shipping since they're somewhat local for pickup.

Man, I love new tires and vehicle stuff....it's a welcome change to audio sometimes.

I guess that would be true if you only considered tires being black.

The rubber componding is vastly different from tire to tire and brand to brand. Pirelli decided to make a long lasting tire, because most consumers think it is a better deal to have a long tread life warranty. The long tread life was achieved by increasing the hardness of the tire (more cabon black and other firm fillers and less oil). They got their long life tire at the expense of increased road noise and less wet traction.

The opposite is true of a very sticky performance tire for corners. (More natural rubber in the compound and less fillers). You get the great corner hugging performance with the downside of shorter tire life.

The tread does play an important part of the tire performance but so does the actual formulation and that can vary greatly.

Everything gets mounted tomorrow, grabbed the rims from upstate PA today, new tires were home when I returned and new center caps as well....not that anyone cares.

I'll post my old vs new pics, let me know if they suck.

OEM Silverado SS 20" rims on Yokohama Parada Spec-X 285-50/20....overall upgrade from a OEM GM 17" rims on Goodyear Wrangler 265-70/17.

Michelin HydroEdge, damn near impossible to break traction in the rain and excellent in dry.

I just bought some tires for my truck, they are round, I had to order them delivered to my tire specialty store.....walmart. They are going to slide good on the dirt roads, especially with some possum gut grease on them.

Dirty but new wheels. I've only got a few hundred miles on the Yokohama's so far but very impressed with the ride quality, turn-in, bite and aesthetics.

Next upgrade....slotted/drilled rotors, SS brake lines and caliper paint.

I'm so sick of this debate! Don't you get it? Tires don't matter! Exotic materials and snake oil says I!!! Roger Russell says so too! And yet you tell everybody that you have to spend sooooo much money on.... uh, you said tires?

We bought the car used and it came with ZIEX ZE-912. So far I like them, but they are coming off this weekend as I'm putting on the winter tires and rims. I can't get over how quiet they are. We don't drive this car much it's a second car for just incase we need it type and more of a weekend driver unless it snows lots then it will just stay in the garage and we'll be using the Xtrail.
