does anybody have the hard specs on the bit rates for the streams on sat radio? How does is compare to at least redbook. S&V this month talks about programming but nothing on bandwidth/data rates or overall quality.

I have XM and have enjoyed it much. Never any problems, and sounds great to me, it is digital, so the broadcast is quite clear.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

take note that 3G is mentioned as an application and I have heard the Lucent already has mpeg4 integrated. I think ECP21 it should becaome generally available.

I read an article and XM and Sirius both run at about 128kbs.

The cdma radio link can support 3X that rate.
Streaming vidio from your phone is around the corner.
Thats worth waiting for IMO.
