In the $500-700 range....720p works...maybe portable enough to sit on desk top.
Needs good reviews....and no functional issues...I ain't no electrical engineer!
Thanks.....Mike

I have a panasonic ptax200 u that I just put a new bulb in yesterday
Its the only 720 that has an invisable pixel structure and can do 1080p without a pulldown -
Sounds like a real possibility if it is in really good shape....like the reviews I read...need something that works like a charm because I am not a projector techie.
Didn't see if this had keystone correction. It will set on a table and need to aim up at a screen on a bit lower table in front.
So, let me know with a pm, the shape and what you are looking at. I did a thorough review of the 900u and it came in used at about $550-$575.

Its in good shape and the pictures awesome if you want I could post pictures on this thread.
It does have keystone correction but the lens shift is awesome and you might not need it .
There is one thing though ..on a completely white screen like google I noticed at the very bottom there is some kinda different shading to the white at the very bottom of the screen .The screen and colors are not affected but it may be caused by the new bulb I just put in it
This may bother you and for that I would let it go for $150 less than what I was gona sell it for .You can have this thing redone and refurbed for $100
I may open it myself and look at the pannels and see if they need replaced and get back to you . otherwise I could let it go for $550 right now -
that works...I am looking at a new sanyo that some guy won as a prize (or so he says), but it is in St. Louis.....he's asking $300.....as you know the 900 sold new for about twice the 200....so you need to think about your price...
I thought my law partner was the original farmboy! -
The panasonic 900 is old hat in comparison to the ptax200 .
Any other 720p projector is going to have a pixel structure that degrades the image up close .No other 720p can compress a 1080p 24 fps signal without doing a pulldown conversion . Basically the panasonics the best and smoothest ,no jitters during a movie and it looks like a true 1080p display
I have a free mount included and screen for the price -
I am totally up for trading this for some audio components

I have done a lot more reading about the pj models I am looking at.
I have never had a pj (bj, yes)....and I do not know how significant the problem you describe is...I did find that I can get new for a little over $1000....I would not have the ability to trobule shoot or fix...or certainly not the patience.....
For trade: I have
NAD integrated amp
Denon 3805
Minty Monitor 5's and 5jr's
A Rotel RB-985
Of course, all will be more expensive to ship. What's your zip, PFB? -
I dont need anything on that list but thanks for the offer neilgabriel
I may just keep this pj and try to fix the lcd pannels in the next week and sell it for $ 650
or sell it on its own for $500
As you can see here the pictures fine but I am super picky -
Just to be clear, I wasn't looking to trade. But, I would want this working without any issues....issues give me the creeps and I lie awake at night. As I pointed out above, new is about $1100 (with a warranty!)....maybe I should just go that route...there also is a highly rated Epson for $1300....thanks....

Well If you can afford it go with the new $1300 epson for sure as its 1080p
I only offerd because you were looking for something in the $500 price range.
