Proper cleaning

Time and time again I see components with high gloss black, or plastic display faces that look terrible. It's from bad cleaning habits. DO NOT use paper towels and/or cleaning chemicals. Spend the HUGE sum of $7.99, and buy a real chamois. I have cleaned my equipment with one for over 20 years. Everything from HDTV screens to speaker drivers. Hot water and a chamois, well wrung is all you need to keep your investment(s) looking MINTY fresh. Use the chamois ONLY for your equipment. You can cut the chamois in half and double your spending value.

Ask anyone who has bought equipment from me, the display faces look NEW. No swirls, spider-webbing, or scratching. Want to see the horrifying truth? Turn all the lights off and shine a flashlight at an angle at your equipments' display faces---scratches will show if they haven't been cleaned properly.

A damp microfibre cloth also works very well. If the finish is painted, I use turtle wax also. :)

I've tried micro-fiber, and although they are soft enough for the job, I can never get them wrung enough to not leave a little water smearing behind. YMMV.

I would not touch the boards, just use canned air and make sure to let it dry completely as canned air has mositure from condensation.
