SDA 2B's?

I found a pair of these two hours away for $100. According to the seller, the drivers are in perfect condition but the grill cloth is frayed in places and there are some stains on the cabinets. These would be my first SDA speakers and I'm just wondering what to expect. Will I be able to drive these with a typical receiver or will a separate amp be necessary? I also would like to incorporate these into my home theater set up - will my CS400i be a good match? Any suggestions on placement?

Thanks!

For 100 bucks run! grill cloth can be replaced wood can be refinished, if the drivers are all there thats the main thing, does he have the sda cable for these? you can power them with a AVR as long as its common ground but a amp will do better. Those were my first SDA's and I never stopped regretting letting those go.

Those were my first pair as well, that is a very good deal, I sold mine locally for $175. They are considered to be pretty much the lowest on the sda chain (some do no like the horizontal tweeter placement) but I liked them. I have ls90s now and like them quite a bit more. If I ran across a pair of 1c's though I would own two pair of polks!

I believe the OP is talking about 2Bs not original 2s with the two horizontal tweeters. The 2Bs have one tweeter and are for sure worth $100 bucks. Run don't walk!

Don't worry, they're doing just fine... and you're not getting them back ;)

Zarrdoss's advice is spot on. The CS400i will make a fine center for those, that's what I'm using and it mates well.
