Those have Peerless tweeters, which is a good thing, and it makes them some of the earlier Mon.10s Hopefully the experts will tell you if they're Original 10s or 10As etc. My 10As use a 1Amp fast-blo fuse to protect the tweeters, you might want to verify that yours are the correct amperage be fore you "crank em up"!:)

my use a 250v 1Amp fuse in the back
thanks

Yup, you've got the right fuse in there.
I have a pair just like them. Great speakers
Probably 77-84
MSRP: $600Sounds good to me... -
Those are very early 1980 or earlier. The 79 on the end of the tweeter means 1979. What are your serial numbers?? that would help me. I bet it is between 62000 and 75000. The tweeter is a US made Peerless. Is the back silver?? Any flat spots on the magnet housing?? Does the other one match it.? Usually these early ones came with Denmark peerless but you are very close to the changeover point.

First off, are you sure that the tweeter is bad, have you tried it in the other cabinet ? If the tweeter is bad, the best thing would be to find another Peerless of the same type as yours. You can check the Flea Mkt. here and also post a wanted thread. They do turn up on ebay every once in a while. An alternative route would be to do some modifications to allow your speakers to accept a replacement tweeter sold by Polkaudio at a discount price for forum members. You'll want to replace both tweeters if you decide to go with the RDO replacements.Good luck !:)

As I suspected. Those are within 500 of mine. They are from very early 1980. Your 6.5s will have dates on them. Those very early 5514s are the same as the 7514s. i will se what I have but make sure you try what gbd said to make sure it is fryed
The speaker ID tag you got the SN off of will say 10 or 10A This SN is very close to the crossover point. The normal way to tell a 10A is no grey crap around the drivers. There are exceptions.
