I saw that F1. Truely a sign of bad things.

completly agree Sal. 1 day left and there only up to $800.
wish i had room for them. -
Every time I see a private listing, I am a bit skeptical. They are always for nice things and always have very few bids and get real low prices. Why would someone do a private listing?

Yeah, I'm sure it sounded absolutely horrible...lol
C'mon now. I'm sure it still sounded absolutely awesome...despite not being perfectly matched.;)The nirvana inducer-

Of course I do...but even still, I would have to hazard a guess that that system still sounded a bit better than your average HTIB...despite the fact that he mixed SL3000's and SL2000's.
I'd be glad to own that setup myself.
Granted, I'm sure it would sound better with all matching tweeters...but it can't have sounded that bad.
There are plenty of HT setups out there that aren't perfectly timbre matched, and still sound fantastic. The nirvana inducer-

Anybody see what these ended up going for? Looks like he had a couple bites, one guy even asking how to get them to Chicago for full price
-
I guess he closed the auction before the end.
-
How did they get into my basement to get that shot???!!
What the hellaluah is a "private sale"? -
He should split them up for more profits

I stand corrected. I wasn't able to clearly see all the tweeters in his first auction and I thought one pair were 1.2TL's, but I now see that he has replaced some of the SL2000's with SL3000's and that they are 1.2's.
Sorry Curt, it's worse than first thought.Political Correctness'.........defined

It looks like the passive's are pretty beat up on a couple of the speakers also from first glance, hard to tell without better pictures though.
Curt forgive Jesse he he is of the belief that one pair of speakers that have all the correct drivers and that are well taken care of will sound better than a hodge podge of multiple speakers and drivers that arent
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -

 Sounds like this deal is getting worse. He's going to have a hard time selling frankensteined speakers to Polkies who know better... -
