Voice/timbre matching
Just wondering how important this is. I have Monitor 70 series 2 for my fronts and came across a great deal for a CSI A6 center channel last night. I know the CS2 is the matching center, but the CSI A6 was on sale cheaper and is a step up.
SO does the voice/timbre matching really matter if I am staying within the same company? Also, if it matters, I have a PSW505 sub.

Timbre matching is important mainly for your front stage (L/C/R).
Think you meant Monitor 70's right?
Btw, that CSiA6 is one hell of a center channel. Step it up and add some RTiA towers with that bad boy
Btw, welcome to CP!Truck setup

Oops, I did mean Monitor (tks).
I just upgraded most of my system and can't turn around and get new fronts. It was just such a good deal for the A6. Would I be better off with the CS2?Onkyo HTRC 180

timbre matching is very important in the front soundstage, but a deal like that center should be taken...with eyes to go RTi up front to match it down the road at your pace.....timbre matching is important, but not as important as foodLiving Room 2 Channel -

For timbre matching, yes. But if you can't hear a difference then stick with the iA6+Monitor 70's up front.
I've always heard a difference between my center channel and front speakers if they weren't timbre matched. It created a sort of echo, and really stood out.
Not everyone hears the same, and not everyone likes their sound the same way eitherTruck setup

i had Monitor 70/50/40 and they matched great with the CS2 and my RTi10s match great with the CSia6. swapped the centers and it did not sound that good IMO
if your gonna keep the Monitor 70s, go with a CS2 IMO
but the CSia6 is a nice centermole' -
Well, the CSI A6 was only 299 (Canadian). Maybe I will hold out and upgrade the 70's when I get the chance. I picked up the pair of Monitor 70's for 350 (canadian), so I don't feel bad about replacing them sooner rather then later.
