What an amazing story that all 33 miners were rescued alive and in good spirits.

some times there is a happy ending to a bad incident.

The movie will be out soon... and the lawyers are circling like sharks. I too am glad they are safe, but it ain't over yet! These men are entitled to more than their fair share of celebrity if they so choose and to be compensated for their horrible ordeal. I just hope they are afforded the dignity they deserve and that the media will leave them alone and not dig up every detail of their private lives for public fodder.

A truly remarkable event. While studying Mining Engineering @ The Univ. of Mo. - Rolla I was a member of their mine rescue team. We practiced every weekend on various scenarios. Never was needed for any accidents. After graduating and working in the S. IL coal mines I decided after surviving in 1 work week - three nearby roof collapses - that I would get out of the underground business before it took my life. Best decision I have made in 30 yrs. I am currenlty working oil & gas exploration in the Gulf of Mexico - we all know about this recent history.

It's nice to have a happy ending to something that could have been tragic.

I personally think the miners are too main stream now. I liked it better when they were underground.

Yup, his mistress was there to greet him when he got out, his wife wasn't.
