VU meter LED swap possible?

Recently I became the proud owner of a Soundcraftsmen MA5002 power amp. Its a gorgeous piece! Beefy with nice VU meters. Everything works perfectly but I was wondering if it is possible to swap the lights in the VU meters to LEDs??
