Questions about the Monitors...

So I recently upgraded to better speakers... (Coming from Z5500)

I bought 2x Monitor 60s
CS1 Center

And I got a BIC F12 subwoofer a long with a Denon 1611 Receiver.

(Planing to get Monitor 30's for rears next)

All is well but... For some reason I can sometimes hear a "popping" sound coming from the towers, especially during music. It sounds like I'm listening to one of those Vinyl players (Old stuff...)

Could it be that I'm under-powering them? The Denon says it does 75W@8ohm
Some kind of interference?
Maybe they got damaged in shipping?

I really don't know... but it worries me =/

Any help would be appreciated!

Whats your audio source? Retail CD, burnt CD, headphone jack to laptop/mp3 player, tv?

I don't think it's the connections... I tightened them up really hard. (Maybe too hard)
Source is MP3's from PS3 HDD. (Mostly 196-320KBS)

I tried messing around with the settings on my PS3 and I turned off Volume Equalizer and formats higher than 48Hz? And set it to Bit Map 2 (For the hell of it)

Not too sure but I don't hear the popping now. Maybe there still is some here and there but I can't tell atm. I also put a limit on volume to -20db (Enough for me lol)

Hopefully I don't hear it anymore...

Also, any thoughts on why my Logitech Z5500's sound nearly the same as the Monitors?

Am I just tone deaf or is my setup not correct?

Could anyone give me some pointers on what I should check out in the setup? Thanks!

Try using a non-lossy audio source since MP3 is a lossy compression and can reveal its limitations with better speakers even at the higher bitrates.

Also, if the pop sound disappears with the volume equalizer then it is possible that the equalizer was increasing levels to the point of clipping whenever the pop occurred.

    Clipping? That sounds bad...

    Would it damage the speakers?
