JL audio F112

Hey all,
Read Danz1906's review on the F113 and I pulled the trigger on the F112 today! I got it in satin black finish.

http://home.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?prod_id=372

I also bought the AudioQuest 10' NRG-2 ac power cable
I also bought the AudioQuest 10' sub-1 audio cable (unbalanced)
I do hope these will give the sub a nice clean signal?

Now, I have to wait on the dealer to get the stuff in. :o
Thanks for looking,
Matt :D

Im sure I wont be disappointed? I looked at both the 110 and 112 and as you can see,I dug deeper and went with the 112. Now I have to wait untill they show up. :(

I have the DSW600 and it rocks!!
Recently replaced it from the SW450 from Klipsch which was really boomy, and now I played some Bone Thugs (creepin on a comin) just to hear some real rap bass and it was great, however, when i really turned it up I started to hear the box ratteling and now i'm wondering is there something wrong with the enclosure or did I push it too hard? It's really a bassy track and I have a Pio Elite -VSX-32 (110w/per channel) so I wouldn"t think the receiver is too much. Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

    Samsung BD-C5500

    Hey Myke,
If your sub is new and you still have warranty? First try to take it back! But if not, then you might want to tinker on the inside and find out whats making that rattle. I know that is a generic answer..but good luck. After rereading your post: Are you sure it is NOT the box resonating? Is it only on this particular track you play?
Keep us posted as what you find.

LoL Ern Dog! Yes it is... I noticed in your signature that you too are an owner of the JL fathom series? How do you like it? Is it both musical and theater friendly as they claim?

My listening room is big, 20'x30' and I when I really crank the sub it bottoms out. So I think if I could do it over again I would have gotten the 12" or 13" model.

Aside from that it is pretty awesome. Bass if very clean and tight for music and blends in easily. I watched Iron Man 2 recently and it delivered the good.

Sorry to hear the news. Hopefully the decision didn't have to be made for unfortunate situations. Hope all is well and that you end up with one in the future.

"First of the month" is a classic. Creapin' on Ah Come Up was/is a fantastic album that was in heavy rotation when I first got my license.

Buyer's regret gets the best of us. When the time is right, well, the time is right.

Because I'm so frugal with my money, practically every audio purchase has been accompanied with some form of buyer's remorse. I attempt to fight these feelings by keeping busy...usually it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions with you having buyer's regret. The JL Audio isn't that great anyways...................which would be a complete lie.

Sorry about that, pal. It'll all be good in the end.

I was going offer my congrats! I have a pair of 112's for my 2 channel rig and they are great! I imagine they would be quite effective in a HT.

Sorry to hear you backed out. Hope whatever caused it was not too serious.

    Im ok guys,
Just prioritzing some things. :o I really need to invest in a more recent AVR or a really good PRE first. (my 3.1TL's put out some really tight bass) Perhaps after the AVR upgrade I then can ease into a sub...BTW is the J L fathom f112 one of the best for the cash? for 2.5k? Just curious.
Anyway thanks for the concern all.

The JL Fathom F112 is a great sub, but may want to consider the
SVS Ultra-13 or the New Sealed subwoofers from SVS:D

I don't know if it's the best out there for 2.5K. I bought my 112 used for about 1K less than that. It is an awesome sub for music! I use it in a music only setup and love it. I know it has limitations for HT use in large rooms. I know a guy who has owned an F113 and an SVS Ultra 13. His opinion was that the SVS wasn't quite as good for music, but had more raw output for HT. He ended up going with a pair of 13 Ultras. I'd be curious to hear the new SVS sealed subs too.
