Another wife story!

My wife and I get along famously!! I got to go to PF last weekend, she got to fly to Chicago this weekend and run the Chicago Marathon, her first.

Sunday afternoon I get a call from her during the middle of the marathon. I knew this was not good since I had been following her times online. She said she thought she hurt her left knee and was now walking the remainder. I asked her to stop and of course, she refused.

She ended up going to an ER Sunday and it looks like there may be some fractures below her knee. She drove her car to airport and planned to drive back today. Didn't happen. I had to rent a car to drive to the airport and try and find her car. Picked her up and drove home. Now we're probably going to have to go to a hotel for several days since the only bathroom we have is upstairs which she can't climb!! Plus, I have to put the dumb arse dog in the kennel for who knows how long until we can go back home since the hotel won't accept animals.

I'll give kudos to Southwest. They were a great bunch of people and had wheelchairs available for her and got her on and off the plane with a minimum of fuss. We now own some nice aluminum crutches! I wonder if I can use them to brace the panels of speakers?! Have to look for a silver lining somewhere!!!!!!

Gordon, man that sucks. ALot of people use a portable camode when they can't get to the bathroom, and a sponge bath for the short term.

I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.

Wishing her a speedy recovery, Gordon. She must be a tough one to continue on with fractures! I guess you already know not to mess with her, lest she kick your...! :p

Wow! I hope your wife recovers in no time. It's sad to hear what a person running a Marathon can end up with.

    All the best!

Wow, I can understand why she continued but it could have ended here running permanently. Hope she heals quick.

    Good Luck,

At least she got hurt doing something she loves to do. It's funny how things can get messed up. The dog- the bathroom situation.

And she wouldn't stop on a injured knee....Do I know that story.

Best wishes for a full recovery.
