Y'all were right, don't buy Sony for my set up, as it is unwise to buy based on rating because they are wrong. Shame on me.
( I was expecting 110x7, like they claimed, on my STRDN1000, but hey SONY, EVEN they learn - ed a thing or three...
(NOW THEY REALLY CLAIM 110W + 110W)
(on new models 1010 and 2010)

OLD FORUM POST........DISCUSS....
However, because I was cranking it up, I was scolded unnecessarily, (I FEEL) being blamed for reason of shut down, mainly because once I stopped having a bi-amped hook up (TONIGHT), the over rated Sony actually could keep up. A little Pioneer-ish sounding though. Funny thing is, I never had any trouble with Pioneer, except their 2006 era car stereos were not really super in their tuning capabilities.
Anywho, once I stopped being bi-amped, I could crank it forever, on max, and not have any issue or shut down....
So, it seems I and Sony have an issue.
Basically, it looks as if I am bad mouthing them justifiably for not being able to create a good receiver, but in essence, I should have listened to all y'all / you'se guys / yooz guyz.
So, you see my living room and the desired set up......

What receiver do I need to buy ?
Onkyo ?
Denon ?
model ?
or other ?

I WAS THINKING A 7.1 OR 7.2, ONKYO 7 OR 8 SERIES

Tanks and hand grenades...

Why not keep your receiver and get an amp.

You need to make sure your receiver has preouts

I did a quick search for your receiver.

    It does not have preouts.

If you are hell bent on Receivers Ive been pretty happy with my Pioneer Elite and it has pre outs for future use.

    Good luck
