These just won a best of the Monitor 10's competition (in my house), but they do lack some clarity in mid-range....better than my older 10B's and some Peerless 10A's.....

what mods are recommended on these? I think there might be a thread....

thanks...

Cap 'em with Sonicaps and seal up the cabinets. Good binding posts won't hurt but aren't really necessary if you get them good and clean.
They're a simple inexpensive crossover to do and it'll help tremendously

thanks, HB......anyone know if a schematic has been posted? I have never changed out a cross-over, capacitor or resistor...just fuses/and tweets and mids! will do a search for Somicaps....thankfully this series 2 has a big enough hole in the post to get wire through...the older 10B's needed about 18 gauge wire....

Here is a link on crossover upgrades.

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59619

Rev. Hayes was one of the most recent members to complete crossover upgrades and posted a couple nice pictures in this link. He used Sonicaps as his capacitor choice. Did a good mod to make them fit.

Copies of the schematics are available in the stickies at the top of the Vintage Speaker Thread. You just need to search through the lists for your model.

Other forum searches will lead to other upgrades: damping material in enclosures. rings, mortite seals, extreme dynamat speaker damping and jb weld for driver magnets. A lot of good reading and lots of choices for your time and $$$.;)
