Black Anthem Pre 2L Tube Preamp

After sitting for about the last 4-5 months I have decided to sell my Anthem Pre 2L. Uses 4 6922 tubes.

The preamp was serviced by Frank Mufich of Mufich Audio in Mckinney Texas April 25th 2010.

Service performed:
repair/resolder any bad connections/cold solders
replace vented/depleated electrolytic for HV supply
replace electrolytic caps at plates
resolder bad connections at voltage regulator
clean, retension all jacks
clean all controls/switches
test distortion
test relative level= balance and channel tracking
listening test.
Parts $20
Labor 3x $45 = $135
Total $155

SInce being serviced it has about 80-100 hours.

Pre has HT bypass and a remote. Codes available for Logictech H1 remote.

The pre will come with factory Sovtek 6922 tubes.

I have a pair of Siemens E88CC I bought from Brent Jesse April 12 2010 and a pair of Siemens E188CCs also bought from Brent May 17 2010. Total for the quad was $500 and have about 80-100 hours. See pics for tubes.

Pre is in very good condition with no noticeable marks or defects. See pics.

I want $500 plus shipping and PP for pre with Sovtek tubes or $750 for Pre with Siemens and Sovtek tubes. You want the Siemens tubes, trust me.

I have the original box and packing material plus I will double box when shipping. I preferr Fedex and will be insured for selling price. I have the remote which is in excellent shape but is in storage with box otherwise there would be pics, yes batteries were removed.



Price is firm. I will take me a couple of days to get pre packed.

    Thanks George. Frank also did the work on my Wright Preamp and serviced my Wright amp just to make sure all is good.

    He does great work and has all the gear to do it right. My stuff is pretty low end compared to some of his customers.

    never heard the Belles. have owned and used a Dodd elp for quite some time. and as much respect as I have for it (well deserved), I feel the Anthem is a step up.

    I will say my Anthem Pre2l was modified with Sonicaps, so I dont know how much that factors into it. if someone comes at me with the intention of taking my Anthem pre, they better roll hard........that pre aint going anywhere

    Congrats on the score Big Dawg. I bought an Anthem Pre 1L from Tracy in the past and still have/love it! Tracy did an incredible packing job on the Pre, so you should be getting yours in great shape! Tracy also modded the caps on the 1L he sold me and it sounds fantastic. I'm running mine with Mullard tubes though, but would love to have those Siemens! You're getting the one feature with your Pre 2L that I wish I had on mine, a remote. All well my fat **** needs to get up everynow and then. Enjoy the Pre, I know you will!

    I have to agree Lou, Big Dawg. I was really impressed with Lou's Anthem gear. It sounded great on every speaker we tethered it to.

    There are 2 on Audiogon but way over priced IMO, one is an SE and the other is a highly modded 2l.
