hi guys, I've got a minor dilemer on my hands. Going back to 2-ch was the best thing I've done w/ cash in a long time. I think my weakest link is the
Infinitys' sm112s, I got them on c/l for $40 in pristine condition w/ no grill
or cabinet issues and the spks were refoamed. So the problem is to upgrade
and my choice is betweenan Ohm/ Walsh2 for $250 on AUDIOGON
or I'm leaning to a pair a Klipsch either Hereseys or Cornwall2s. If price was decent the clarity of the Klipsch is unparrelled but the omidirection Omh /Walsh has it's own set of qualities. So yes, I now have decent spks for a great price but the need to upgrade is getting to me.Could any of you guys
sort this one out w/ me.

While I do like the sound of Ohm Walsh I would jump at either Klipsch Cornwalls or Heresy's.

For two channel the Cornwalls have a great sound it is down to price as far as I am concerned. If you can afford them I say Cornwalls, then Heresy then Ohm Walsh.

If you can get a pair of Cornies for $250, by all means do. Heresys have all of the Cornies bad points, plus no bass. The Cornies are great if the program material is excellent and all of the associated electronics likewise. I am no fan of Cornwalls on solid state amplifiers (they're ear-gougers). Plenty of mods available to fix their flaws, though.

The price for the Walsh 2s is a tad steep (mine were half that) but they're pretty good.

You probably already know that would be hard-pressed to pick two more different speakers, though...

PS Owned a pair of Cornwalls (1974 vintge) for a decade (replaced by Altec Valencias, which I find far preferable); still own a pair of the Ohm Walsh 2 ('baby Walsh').
