Hi All; I sold a B&O Turntable recently on ebay. The buyer claimed it was damaged in shipment but would not file a claim. Says the stylus was damaged. He sent me a picture of it and it was a filthy dirty stylus. The one I sent with the TT was pristine clean. He didn't use the ebay dispute platform, instead doing a charge back with his CC company. It is all in limbo now. This guy was just looking for replacement parts. Sellers Beware!!!!!!

    Lowlife's are everywhere!

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it's not Amex - they will always side with the card owner, others are more neutral. It'll be tough. I wish you luck.

    +1 on the accurate description+pics.

Always take accurate pictures displaying the condition of anything you've sold prior to shipping it. Save all receipts as well (for items shipped). You can never be too cautious when trying to cover your own ****.

Just one more reason why ebay sucks. I haven't used them in years, and never will again.

    Jim,

The way I would handle this is to refund the customers money and have him ship the unit back to you. Then you file the claim.

I will consider that once this case is closed. Paypal has so far been quite helpful.

Not a lot can be done once he goes to his CC Company for a chargeback. Taking him to court is about the only recourse you have. Ebay and Paypal cower at the thought of argueing with a CC company.
    Been there...Done that.
I went to the Federal Prosecutors office since he got the chargeback and wouldn't send back the item I sold to him. It worked.
    Best of luck with this.

File the claim with whom? ebay has no complaint area setup for sellers except for non-payment.

Shipping claim. Your original post said it was damaged in shipping. Sounds like it's too late though. Re-read your original message that he charged you back. Hopefully eBay can help you resolve this.

Sadly not much you can do but hope that PayPal pulls through for you. You can't contact his credit card company, even if you knew which one it was. PayPal made the charge, not you, so there's no way they would discuss it with you.

Thank god for the flea market here. I haven't sold a thing on ebay in as long as I can remember mainly because the system here is so good. I have however sold some stuff on amazon.

Good luck on your journey to get this resolved.

If you're not a thief, scoundrel, liar or cheat you shouldn't have a problem on eBay. My feedback rating is 100% and have only had one bad experience ever on eBay after 100's of transactions.

You have been lucky. This is my first bad experience on ebay and will be my last!

I've been pretty lucky on the fleabay too, about the only bad experiences have been from sellers who forgot they got my PayPal payment right after the auction closed and I had to contact them after 3 days or so after not hearing a word from them. 99% of sellers usually contact me within a day. Agree though, Club Polk Flea Market has been a great place to buy and sell.

I must lead some kind if charmed life or something.

I see people bashing eBay as a selling platform, and UPS as a shipping platform all of the time, but have bought and sold hundreds of fragile collectibles, turntables and electronics componets on eBay, and shipped and received literally tens of thousands of such items using UPS (and also the US Postal Service) with maybe a small problem per 2,000 shipments.

You need to photograph everything inside and out, precisely describe and package like it was the Mona Lisa and you won't have any problems.

I have all the listing pictures and the ones sent to me by the seller of the "damage". This guy isn't to smart. He gave me emails and pictures and it was not hard to figure out I was being scammed. Imagine this buyer trying to convince me that a ding in the cover plate was caused by the stylus tip. And this is no small ding!
