Best way to get more deep bass that you can feel

I've got a pretty big setup for the bedroom that its in(in the basement with concrete walls on 3 sides). It doesn't really have the deep bass I'm looking for and I'm wondering what the best way to get that is?

Pioneer 5.1 Receiver(nothing special, will be upgrading soon to get pre-outs)
Monitor 70's
CS2 Centre
Monitor 30 rears
Micro Pro 3000
PSW10

I was thinking about building a custom subwoofer to replace the cheap psw10. Something along the lines of an 18" sub... What do you guys recommend?

The system sounds awesome by the way. Nice clean bass. But want a bit more of a boom that you can feel when something explodes for example in a movie. It is on my shortlist to amplify the monitor 70's as well.
Towers: Monitor 70's
Center: CS2
Rears: Monitor 30's
Sub: MicroPro 3000
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-D409
Screen: Samsung 42" 720p
All in a 12x12 bedroom...

I have never built or heard a custom sub.I have heard all SVS's and they slam pretty hard.Alot of the members here like epik's as well.
Polk 505 is a great sub for the money. They can be had pretty cheap now days.

How would the 505 compare with my micropro 3000? I'm guessing it would still be in the same general ball park as far as the bass it produces. I'm looking for something thats really loud when I crank it up.

I am in Canada so shipping is a major consideration. Whats the going rate for one of those epik subs? On their website it lists 799 for the Empire. Thats pushing a budget already without shipping.

    I was thinking a 15" Kicker L7 in a 1" MDF box with a 1000w rms plate amplifier.

Do the epiks hit really low?

If your system is in a 12'x12' room, I'd say a Epik Empire or a nice SVS should give you plenty of quality bass:)

Just add another subwoofer with a splitter. I did it and I'm more than pleased.

I've heard the Polk 505 is great to.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Nearly anything but the psw10 will provide more bass for you. Not knocking your system by any means because that's almost exactly what I started with. Get a different sub that your budget allows and you will never look back.

To this day, the psw10 has been my most disappointing audio purchase I have ever made.

Thinking one of your biggest problem is the cement basement floor, your not getting any tactile vibration feedback, you know, your not feeling the lower bass note vibrate the floor.

I would try a bass shaker or two in the sofa with a cheap amp and see if that helps.

Just a guess of mine as I am in the basement too.

I threw the psw10 in there just for **** and giggles. I had it listed for sale and no one wanted it. I'm using both right now.

Whats the best thing to look for in getting the deep bass if I can't pickup an Epik Empire? I'm guessing I'm looking for something that hits in the 15hz range?

Where do you guys usually pick up Epik subs? I couldn't find any on ebay. Straight from Epik? How are the Epik Phoenix's? They're sold out so it doesn't list the price but they're still an 18" woofer.

Epik retooled their lineup last year. The Empire and Legend are the only two subs they have out right now.
