I saw a video on youtube where a guy was demo'ing his DIY speakers with drum/cymbals only sounds. Anyone know of any CD's that feature just drums and cymbals?

Hmmm, the "Poet of the Chinese Drums" is a good drum track but I do not believe that it has any cymbals.

You are correct - no cymbals - but it is a great track with lots of deep, thumping bass.

FYI, it is on the Burmester Reference III disk, along with some other fun tracks from a wide variety of genres.

The CD this guy had was exclusively drum sounds, I guess for checking your speakers crossovers, realism, etc.

Steve, there are some CD's available through various outlets that have drum tracks. They are production CD's used for various different things including sampling, beats for demo songs, radio/television production, etc. If you were interested I might be able to dig something up. I used to have a few.

Check out some Drum Sound CD's, used for sampling keyboards. I'm not 100%, but pretty sure they are recorded as .wav files. Likely to NOT be cheap though. Also look for recorded loops, provided they were sampled from acoustic drums.

They should be recorded very well, if done by a reputable company.

I have a DVD-Audio disc of the Blue Man Group called "Audio" that just rocks and I think it's mostly just drums and percussion. I know it sounds just amazing!
