Look, I love Bugs Bunny too.... but why on EARTH would kids know their PARENTS cartoons? Do you expect them to know who Gilligan is too? The cast of the love boat? You realize they have their OWN entertainment right?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    "Uh.. What's up Doc?"

I introduced older cartoons/kids shows to my kids and they think it's hilarious. Their favorite is still Tom and Jerry.

Who else keeps the Martian at bay? We're doomed indeed. Maybe Atom Ant will help if he can find his glasses.

The Loonie Tunes, Hanna Barbera, etc. started getting limited play when that stupid Purple dino, mutant turtles, and power rangers came out.

Still nothing better than the classics...and yes I introed my 16y/o stepson to Gilligans Island a couple weeks ago when I picked up a couple seasons on DVD onsale...guess what he watches after school like I did when I was younger...its all about exposure

Alot of great responces for the reason why. I'm sooooo glad I grew up in the time-frame of this worlds history.
I hate the wars that this country has been in but for TV entertainments sake, it was governed by moral people and quite enjoyable to me. I remember a thread on the forum where we all reminised about all our favorites. The Munsters were great to weren't they.

I remember when HBO was the turning point.

I can't believe I don't know who the groups or artists are on the grammys anymore and quite frankly don't like the music that much either. But aparently millions of people do like it.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    So true hehehe!!

My fav is Bug's Bunny afterward Tom & Jerry. I still watch these every Saturday on DVD with my bowl of Fruit Loops. Kids love it also. If I'm working late then I'll spin up some Flinstones. Also to note, I still have a fresh pair of Hare Jordans when Space Jam premiered.

    Classic

I love Looney Toons, but Gilligan's Island is an AWFUL show. The only reason it was ever popular is because it had pretty girls in skimpy outfits, and it was THE ONLY THING ON TV. Showing it to your kids is just making t hem dumb, and out of touch.

With all the hustle and bustle now days slowing down to a lil humor helps...then I kick him in the butt to do home work...Its better than a World o Warcraft zombie....to much reality will kill u if you don't take a break...guess you didn't watch bugs either

I loved Bugs, and I don't like reality TV. The only thing I'm criticizing is Gilligan's Island. There's plenty fo smart comedies on right now that are LIGHT YEARS better than that garbage, and don't need a laugh track to tell you what's supposed to be "funny."

I've tried to introduce my kids (2y and 4y old) to Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn, Sylvester, and the rest of the Looney Toons Gang, but every time I turn them on, I find that the material seems a bit to mature for them. Either not PC, or too violent.

That is probably the reason why you don't see them on TV anymore.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
