Video: Watch the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 flogged on the 'Ring
by Damon Lavrinc (RSS feed) on Oct 6th 2010 at 8:01PM

camaro-ring-cap-630op.jpg

We've seen the Camaro Z28 from nearly every angle, but we haven't seen it driven in anger. That's rectified today with the release of a new spy video showing Chevrolet's 500+ horsepower pony car being flogged at the Nürburgring in preparation for its debut within the next few months. More impressive than the supercharger whine emanating from the 6.2-liter LSA V8, is the surprising lack of squat, dive and body roll as the Z28 launches out of the starting gate, tackles a few high speed turns and comes flying out of the Carousel. See for yourself in the video after the jump.

I must say I am REAL impressed with how good this car appears to be.

W00t! Chevrolet's got STIFF competition in the GT500, especially considering how heavy and floaty the current Camaro is. I'm not expecting the Z/28 to be able to hang with the GT500...but I will definitely be ecstatic if it does!

As a diehard Mustang fan (only the OLD mustangs from 64 1/2 to 72), I don't think the GT500 is all that great of a car  Just my .02 ;)

if they added a supercharger, they will also address the suspension. looking at how composed that car looked at sped, in turns, and over bumps.....i'd say they already did. can't fight physics on weight, but you can change handling characteristics in the aftermarket real easy anyway.

just the suspension mods on my Mustang made a night and day difference, question is how much it will cost. luckily suspension mods for the mustang were too terrible since there is alot of competition. I imagine the Camaro can't be much more.

I love how the Camaro looks, sounds.....but I never drove it. it's a little tubby even for an american muscle car in my eyes.....but the killer for me is the visibility. the greenhouse is godawful. I would love to see that addressed in the next redo/refresh.
