There's a reason Bama is #1. They may pull it off. Carolina is having a good day.

    1 TD away.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those years where there is a lot of dispute to the final rankings and the word 'playoff' is going to be discussed again.

There will likely be no undefeated teams left in the SEC and the so called 'National Championship' is going to be played by some chump teams who came through a weaker conference undefeated.

How could anyone with a straight face name their team the game ****? The only name more ridiculous is the beavers. Yikes!

Hate to see a fellow SEC team get beat by a bunch of **** right after the Vols get beat by a bunch of beavers.

What sucks is that this means Bama may not be in the championship bowl this year and some panty waist team like Boise State that played a bunch of cooking and dance schools and went undefeated will.

    See the new AP poll?

    1 Ohio State (34) 6-0
    2 Oregon (15) 6-0
    3 Boise State 5-0
    4 TCU 6-0
    5 Nebraska 5-0
    6 Oklahoma 5-0
    7 Auburn 6-0
    8 Alabama 5-1
    9 LSU 6-0
    10 South Carolina 4-1
    11 Utah 5-0
    12 Arkansas 4-1
    13 Michigan State 6-0
    14 Stanford 5-1
    15 Iowa 4-1
    16 Florida State 5-1
    17 Arizona 4-1
    18 Wisconsin 5-1
    19 Nevada 6-0
    20 Oklahoma State 5-0
    21 Missouri 5-0
    22 Florida 4-2
    23 Air Force 5-1
    24 Oregon State 3-2
    25 West Virginia 4-1

What a complete and absolute joke! The guys that make these polls arent qualified to run a 7/11. I mean can you sit there and honestly tell me that Boise State or TCU would actually beat Alabama?! I can understand an argument for Ohio State and Oregon but BSU and TCU, there's just no way.

Yeah Bama was outplayed but damn these guys are beat up. SC coming off a bye giving Steve Spurier an extra week to prepare and Bama coming off their 3rd consecutive knock down drag out.

Not taking away from SC and theyre definitely a top 10 team but the odds were in their favor. You really think if Bama had played San Jose State the week before and/or Spurier didn't have an extra week to prepare, that the outcome would've been the same?

Again, not knocking on SC, just saying these things should be taken into account before you drop the best team in the country from 1st to 8th. And definitely before you rank teams with cream puff schedules ahead of teams that are in all out brawls every week.

yeah Bama lose. South Carolina also had 2 weeks to get their plan together and succeeded a lot. and bama had just pummeled Florida into the ground so i doubt they cared to beat south Carolina... the Florida is personal now lol. Alabama can still win a championship of some kind. first thing's first: win the west. if they win the west they will play in the SEC championship, if they win the rest of their games they will jump Boise and TCU without a doubt bc they still have 2 top 25 ranked teams and if Boise has a close game at all they don't have a chance at anything.

If Bama goes and wins all their games up until the SEC championship they will play either Florida again or South Carolina which lets face it, Garcia plays like he did saturday against florida florida's done for the year. I don't care how Burton thinks he is he won't get crap in that game.

Articles today are saying that Boise State would be #1 right now if the BCS rankings were out. I just don't get it. They have only beaten 1 team that is worth a damn.

Here is what I think will happen. I doubt the Pac 10 and SEC will have any undefeated teams when the dust settles. Alabama will run through the rest of the west wiping out the rest of the undefeated teams in the SEC and will probably play Florida again in the SEC championship.

ACC and Big East are a joke this year and hardly deserve their automatic bids.

The Big 10 could conceivably have 2 undefeated teams because MSU doesn't have to play Ohio State and only has one remaining ranked team to get through (Iowa). Either of those teams (if undefeated) should be above Boise. Now I'm not saying that MSU is a national championship caliber team, but their schedule is somewhat favorable for an undefeated run, if they can get past Iowa that is. How high do you rank a team like that?

Big 12 might have 2 undefeated teams meeting in their championship. The winner of that game should be above Boise.

I just don't see how Boise or TCU can come out on top, unless every other BCS conference team has at least 1 loss. If that happens, well, then we will probably see those two in the championship and there will be a huge amount of controversy.

Yes, I think Boise and/or TCU could beat Alabama on a given Saturday...especially a bowl game where they've had a month to prepare. I'm not saying I think either of them is better than Alabama, just saying they are probably as good as say...South Carolina.

Here's the key though. I don't think Boise or TCU could get through the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, or Pac 10 without a couple of losses. Getting up for one big game is a lot different than having to "bring it" every week.

Boise and TCU would be shot by South Carolina, i doubt either one would score because South's Defense is always good. Boise and TCU never face any good defenses and when they do the teams are questionable, like VA Tech and Oregon State and the games are always close. the only SEC teams Boise has ever played have beaten the eyes out, South Carolina, Georgia and Arkansas.

and if Oregon play Boise this year it'd be Oregon by 30:D

Lets see; Bama loses to South Carolina. Poll comes out and Bama is ahead of South Carolina. How it that? This contest was played on the field not in a computer. So why is Bama rated higher? The NCAA needs a play off system badly.

BCS/computer aided rankings don't come out til Sunday. If SC runs the table they will be ranked higher than Bama. Of course that means they will play each other again in the SEC championship game.

Current rankings are from AP and Coaches polls. They still believe Bama is a superior team (and so do I). Computers don't come into it until next week when the first BCS rankings are published.
