I got engaged this weekend! I've had the ring (family heirloom) for about a month now, and wanted to wait for her birthday in November. Needless to say, I couldn't wait. So I decided to give it to her during half time of the Hawkeye game Saturday night, she thought that was great. Of course she said yes, no plans on a date yet, shes in a wastewater treatment program and will take the state exam in March, so we'll know more March/April. Very excited, but I'm surely going to let her take the lead on all planning, not my cup of tea. Thought I should share, take care everyone!

Congrats, I just got married myself in August. As others have suggestions I HIGHLY recommend getting all the audio video stuff you can now before WAF comes into play..... I did for the most part and it was good I did as now we are broke due to the cost of the wedding.

Unfortunately for me I joined this forum afterwards and have only just recently learned about SDA's otherwise I would be sporting a pair in my house, but WAF factor on those is harder (unless I modded them to be black).

Definately let her do all the planning but do take a somewhat active role in asking questions and giving some input (letting her choices overide yours of course ;)). Make sure you sample any and all food choices if you cater in (thats one of the fun parts I missed out on since we didnt cater :() Enjoy the ride my freind!
