Tsi300/400 - driver differences and measurements

Hi,
I am debating between the Tsi300 and Tsi400. Trying to decide if the Tsi400 is worth the extra $200 or not. I will be going to Best Buy to hear them side by side and judge for myself but I wanted to get some subjective information on these speakers as well.

First of all do these speakers share exactly the same drivers or do they use different drivers ? I know they are the same size but are they really identical ?
And what kind of configuration are both ? are they both 2-way or 2.5 way ? or 3-way ?

I came across a couple of reviews but does anyone know where I can find any measurements on both these speakers ? I am looking for frequency response, distortion and impedance (or atleast minimum impedance and at what frequency).

Thanks and Appreciate any info anyone can provide.

Did you look at the product page for the TSi line?

They use the exact same drivers, but the TSi 400 has a 3rd 5.25" driver. Frequency response is virtually identical, but I suspect you'd get slightly fuller sound w/ the TSi 400.

yes I have seen the product and the specs page, but it doesn't quite answer my questions.
are you saying they are exact same drivers because they are the same size ? because thats the only thing the product and specs page indicate. they dont say anything other than the size of the driver. That doesn't neccessarily mean they are really the same driver.

Why wouldn't they be the same driver? If you're looking at the RTi A7 or A9, there are separate bass drivers, mid drivers, and tweeters. But I'm pretty sure that for the Monitors and TSi, the drivers are all the same.

Still, I could be wrong - you should check with dorokusai (one of the mods); he could probably tell you for sure.

The TSi series share the same drivers across the lineup. Just like the RTiA and LSi series. Each loudspeaker uses them in different configurations but are all voiced to match one another respectively.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but, I need a fast reply. I am interested in getting polk tsi400 but, am debating between a 75 watt per channel Denon and a 90 watt per channel Denon. There is a $150.00 price difference. Do you think I would hear any difference with 15 more watts per channel? Or would 75 watts be sufficient?

Probably not in 2 ch mode, but if you're running 5.1 or 7.1, the speakers probably won't be getting the full 75 or 90w each. Unless the 75w / ch receiver has pre-outs, you should probably go w/ the more powerful one.

Do both receivers offer exactly what you're looking for?

I wouldn't buy an AVR based on how much power it puts out. For the opportunity to upgrade your system to an even further level (whether you wish to do it anytime soon or a year from now), make sure the unit has preamp outputs!

It's always beneficial to do some research before dropping some coin on anything.
