I am really becoming concerned with the tone of commercials like these. Very disturbing and reminiscent of some of the most horrible agendas in world history.

The subtlety of the tone with "no pressure" and then the reaction to those who don't act like sheep is what makes this so insidious.

But we see this all the time in different degrees don't we?

Jon Stewart and Saturday Night Live do this sort of thing all the time.
They love to blow up those that disagree or question transformation, hope and change.
It is so one sided and is really so predictable and boring, especially when there is true comedy on the other side that is "overlooked" and "swept under the carpet".

I'm for conservation and ecology..but that crap is way over the top and is totally counterproductive to the results they want to acomplish...IMO.

The answer could go a lot of different directions, but in a nutshell, the themes presented by the producer (the people behind the “10:10″ campaign) appear to be; the collective trumps the individual, the collective can execute the individual and authority is from the top down rather than from the bottom up.

I find that deeply disturbing. I've come to rather enjoy being an individual, and a not a hive drone.

I like the commercial, though not the funniest. Very nice BMW ad..............go BMW!!! Even though they just had a freaking recall for brake issues.

I see some are putting the 10:10 add and the BMW add in the same category for lack of a better phrase. I'll put it this way.

the 10:10 ad makes me want to do one or more of the following:

1) punch a polar bear in the face
2) trade in my Nissan Cube for a Ford Raptor pick up truck, then Mod it to actually get less MPG
3) Jump in my Mustang and drive it into a Prius........eh, scratch that. why waste a perfectly good sports car? So I'll drive up to the Prius, pour Gasoline on it, and light it aflame. this serves a dual function of a) taking a fuel efficient vehicle of the road and b) pouring Co2 into the atmosphere via the burning car itself.

the point is, that ad makes me want to do the opposite of what it wants, guess I don't respond to intimidation well....because that is what that ad is. Trust me, you can't find humor because that was not it's intent.



the BMW ad? makes me wanna drive a BMW........win, sexist, gutter humor, naughty? yes....effective? yep.

when she said the just a few cells line it was in regards to the abortion topic they had been talking about prior rather than kill a child with a pillow.

Not that I'm defending anything, but just to clarify, a couple = 2, a few = 3, and by the time a urine test a reliably indicates pregnancy, the fetus has nearly 1 million cells. By the time most abortions are performed it's something like 50 million. The average adult has 50 million.

Interesting tidbit about a "few" . . . during the eighth week, there is a point where remarkable development occurs and nerve cells in the brain form at a rate of about 100,000 a minute.
