on my local cl, someone has pics of some nice looking sdas, for sale.

called, all he knew was series 2, didnt even quote them as sda, didnt know about the connector cable some sdas use. wants 300 dollars

question
do the series 2 use the cable between the two speakers, if so how much would one cost.

secondly, are the series 2 the full on freakin sda, or a lesser version.

calling him back in about half an hour. it will be about a 2 hour drive, so would like to get info before 4 hour round trip.

these guys have one tweeter, four mids and a 10 inch woofer each.

also a pic of the binding posts show a red and black post, does the sda cable hook to the same posts as the speaker wire, also i have read somewhere that certain amps cant be used with sdas, bad for amp.

i have a denon avr 3300 i would be using, would it do them justice.

im obsessing over these questions because being disabled on a fixed income, this would be quite an expense for audio for us.

i would not want to buy speakers and find out a cable would be another 200 bucks and my receiver wont work with it.(wife would torture and murder me, then she would get really rough.)

One tweeter and four mids? 3.1 TL If mids are all in a vertical line. If not I don't know what they are.

Edit: if 3.1's, they should have a cable, and your AVR won't do them justice.

Edit 2: I must still have the effect of the tequila from polkfest. 3.1's have 5 mids.:o

That is the ad, if anyone is interested in looking. If I had to guess, I would say they look more like the Monitor line, but I have no idea which one of those they would be either.

edit: Well, I guess Ricardo knows which ones they are...

edit2: http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/monitor12/ Here, have some information.

Monitor 12? Damn, learn something new every day. I have never seen those before, and they are not SDA so not worth 300 IMO, more like 150 tops.

Am I the only one that noticed that the date on the pictures is 13 years ago?

I called him...he said he didn't reset the date on the camera when he took them. I asked how firm that price was and he said FIRM, that they were worth at least $500 and this was a give away price. So I said okay thanks.

Oh yeah, he told me they are Monitor 2's. Not 12's! :D

They are Monitor 12 series II. Not nec series II because there was a series I Monitor 12, but series II because all series II Monitor line speakers used the sl2500 rather than the sl2000. So I assume that's where he got the "series 2" from.
