What is happening is that your amp cannot control the drivers at high volume levels. So, you either need mo' better power or don't turn it up too high.

Thanks F1, I appreciate that. I only noticed it once when I turned it up past "normal" listening levels, ill be sure to keep it down until I can afford more powerful amp.

150w to a single 6.5 seems like enough power to me, is the popping occurring during heavy bass, or just in general?

If it is heavy bass, you might need to pass that LFE off to a sub.

My sub takes care of LFE, Ill double check to see what I have my AVR crossed at. Maybe my AVR reset to factory defaults during a recent power outage? F1 is pretty damn smart, I think he's right.:D

I don't think F1 is wrong, he has a lot of experience in these matters, just offering an alternate testable diagnosis. :)
