I just bought a Rockford Fosgate T1 15" dual voice coil at 2 ohms and I want to hook it up in parallel so I'm looking for an amp around 1000 watts that is stable at 1 ohm. My brother has the Kenwood KAC-9104d mono amp that has the right amount of power but is not stable at 1 ohm and overheats and shuts off. So I don't want that to happen.

I know the good brands are Rockford Fosgate, MTX, Alpine, Kenwood, etc.

Thanks for any help.

I'd look for the ooooold Rockford Fosgate amps, highly underrated and very capable of putting out power at 1ohm loads (can't recall the series per-se).

That 9104D is just enough to push a single Alpine Type-R sub, nowhere near enough for what you're asking of it.

Also this is not the 2010 model. It's the model before.

I have that Kenwood amp & drive a dual voice coil setup into one ohm all day long, no issues. Sure you don't have a power supply issue?

The 900 watt Kenwood amp? But I'm not sure if it is a power supply issue. The amp just shuts off after a couple minutes of playing. But it has plenty of power and should be able to support the t1. So i don't really know what the problem is.

    not 1 ohm stable.

    RF T1000 would do perfect.

I know it's rated to put out 1200 at 1ohms "without a sweat" but does it really?? Can anyone confirm that?
Will it also need a lot of breathing room for ventilation?? More then usuall i mean.
