All of you who asked, and there were several of you, here is the info about that tube amp I have.
When I got it like 7-8 years ago from Antique Electronics Supply and it was $140. But now it seems it's gone to $195. Still, a bargain IMO. It's designed by George Fathauer and there are several kits around. This one was the cheapest back then. I haven't shopped it to find out how AES's new price compares to others. It's a simple kit to put together but you do need some soldering skills.

They have lots of tubes too. Some hard to find ones too and stock is updated regularly. Worth checking out for anyone with a tube fetish or a DIY penchant. I've been buying from them for years.

John,

Thanks John,
You were really the budget representative at the fest. That little amp sounded much better than anyone would expect. And, having owned KLH Sixes, the 17s did a great job with those 8 watts! But what can I say...Henry Kloss...was a legend and I'm currently looking for another pair of KLHs.
The old Polk computer speakers were also a surprise...hard to believe they used to make PC speakers like that?
It was great meeting you John...pretty refreshing in fact. Because you just lay it all out and it's REAL!
Thanks for the info!

I have so many pairs of KLH's, I need a 3rd arm to shake enough sticks at them. Let me dig through them and find a pair that is in working order and you can have them!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Thanks John that's a great offer. I'd pay for shipping or you can just hold on to them until I get down to visit my sister again.
